Literacy in manufacturing

the project
A 2-hour online microskill for TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence, helping manufacturing workers build foundational workplace literacy, particularly workers from CALD backgrounds. Through visual, interactive, and scenario-based learning, participants practice real-world tasks such as reading safety procedures, completing forms, interpreting SOPs, and communicating with teams.
My role
As the learning designer, I transformed text-based content into interactive learning in Articulate Rise, creating and integrating custom Storyline interactions—including one featuring a rotatable 3D object.  I applied Plain English and minimised text for a low-literacy audience. To create consistency and engagement, I used a recurring character as the course guide, supported by carefully selected stock imagery and styled elements from a graphic designer.

Key Skills: Accessible content design · Articulate Rise & Storyline development · Scenario & character-driven learning · Plain English writing
